PERSON STATS

  DEERING, Sam
Born In Tower Hamlets On 26/02/1991  England
Joined On 10/02/2011 Player

Diminutive midfielder who initially joined Barnet on a loan deal from fellow League Two side Oxford United in February 2011, before being signed permanently by Lawrie Sanchez at the end of the season.

Sammy has something of a sketchy past from his time at Oxford, but his time at Barnet has so far seen him get his career back on track. He performed so well in the final three months of last season that he was voted young player of the year by our fans and also won goal of the season for his wonder strike at home to Chesterfield, the game where the start of the great escape began!

Played in the middle or on the right wing, Deering has generally been highly effective for the Bees in his time with the club so far. With the right attitude and application, this is a young man with the potential to go a lot further than League Two in his footballing career.
